This class is a great way to explore your potential dreams of becoming a professional floral designer to see if it’s for you. Of course, it’s also a great way to improve your skills to make arrangements at home.
The floral design workshop was curated and created by Wendy Rockcastle and includes three classes that will cover all the basics of floral design. Wendy is the co-owner and creative director of Rockcastle Florist and has over 25 years of experience with creating floral masterpieces for weddings, events, and gift-giving.
She has also served on the Teleflora Education Board and blogged for the Democrat and Chronicle as a local expert. Mary Rockcastle, Wendy’s daughter, will be assisting in the classes. She is a new addition to the family-owned business and is a recent graduate from the number one design school in the country.
The first class is Tuesday, October 9th from 6:30-8:30pm. It’s called Get to Know Your Tools. In the first class, students will become familiar with the tools and techniques used to create a specific floral design. Students get to take home a low-profile floral design made in class.
The next class will be held on Tuesday, October 16th from 6:30-8:30pm. It’s called Designing in Vases and Foam Vases. Students will learn the dual nature of two design techniques and practice designing in both containers.
The last class will be scheduled for Tuesday, October 23rd from 6:30-8:30pm. It’s called That’s a Wrap: Loose Cut Bouquets. There are several different styles of loose cut flower wraps so students will learn the basics behind designing a wrapped bouquet flat on a table and in hand.
The enrollment fee is $150 to attend all three classes, making each class $50. Students enrolled in this course are required to take all three classes. Students leave each class with at least one fresh arrangement that exceeds the value of the class in fresh flowers and supplies.
The class registration deadline is Tuesday, October 2nd. To enroll, call (585) 225-3640 or send an email to email@example.com.
